Stripping the formwork on the Clarksville Residence.

Given the tight downtown Austin lot, the swimming pool and detached pool house had to be built prior to the main house excavation and concrete work.  The main house foundation acts as a site-wide retaining wall, supporting an elevated flat yard in the back, and a depressed entry drive in the front, allowing cars to park in a garage underneath the house. In keeping with the historic character of the neighborhood's pier and beam houses, this will allow the primary living spaces to float above the street, complete with a generous front porch that affords views of the beloved neighborhood park.
